At Latent Lens, we take the protection of customer data and the safety of our platform extremely seriously. This page describes the organizational and technical measures we implement platform-wide, designed to prevent unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure of customer data, as well as our content moderation and acceptable use policies. We recommend you also review our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Infrastructure
All of our services run in the cloud. Latent Lens does not operate its own routers, load balancers, DNS servers, or physical servers.
- Services and data are hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) facilities in the United States, protected by AWS security
- Our infrastructure is hosted on SOC 2 compliant cloud providers
- All datastores containing customer data are backed up with disaster recovery in mind
- Customer data is stored in multi-tenant datastores with strict privacy controls in our application code to ensure data privacy and prevent one customer from accessing another customer's data
- All systems used to process customer data are configured and patched according to industry-recognized system-hardening standards
2. Data Encryption
Latent Lens is served 100% over HTTPS. All data sent to or from our services is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- In transit: TLS 1.3 encryption on all API and application endpoints (TLS/SSL only)
- At rest: AES-256 encryption for all photos and sensitive data
- Secure key management with regular rotation
- Regular security audits and strict access controls
3. Authentication
We enforce two-factor authentication (2FA) and strong password policies on all cloud service provider accounts (AWS, GitHub) to ensure access to infrastructure and services is protected.
4. Content Moderation
We implement multiple layers of content moderation to keep the platform safe:
- All uploaded photos are scanned for prohibited content before processing
- AI-powered detection identifies nudity, violence, and harmful content
- Human review is available for edge cases and appeals
- Rejected uploads include specific feedback for re-submission
5. Deepfake Prevention
We take active measures to prevent misuse of AI-generated imagery:
- Generated headshots are watermarked with invisible metadata
- We do not allow generation of another person's likeness
- Identity verification required for account creation
- Suspicious activity triggers manual review
6. Incident Response
- We have implemented a formal procedure for security events and educated all staff on our policies
- When security events are detected, they are escalated and our team is assembled to rapidly address the event
- After a security event is resolved, we conduct a post-mortem analysis that is reviewed in person and distributed across the company, including action items to improve detection and prevention
- We will promptly notify affected customers in writing upon verification of a security breach that affects their data, including a description of the breach and the status of our investigation
7. Payment Processing
All payment processing for the purchase of Latent Lens services is performed by Polar Software, Inc., who acts as the Merchant of Record. Polar handles payment processing, invoicing, sales tax collection, and refund processing on our behalf. We do not store your full credit card details.
8. Prohibited Content
The following types of content are strictly prohibited on our platform:
- Nudity, sexually explicit, or suggestive content
- Violence, weapons, or harmful imagery
